About Phantip Travel

Phantip Travel is based in Surat Thani and sells combined bus and boat tickets — one booking covers both the road leg and the crossing, so there is no separate queue for a boat ticket at the pier.

Main routes: Surat Thani – Koh Samui, Surat Thani – Koh Phangan, Surat Thani – Koh Phi Phi and Surat Thani – Khao Sok. Pick-ups at Surat Thani Airport and Surat Thani railway station let you connect straight off a flight or train without going into town first.

The road leg uses 3 vehicle types, depending on route and passenger numbers:

  1. Air-con coach
  2. Air-con minibus
  3. Air-con van

The crossing then continues by boat, with Don Sak as the main pier. The advantage of a through ticket is that road and sailing times are already matched, which cuts the risk of missing your boat.

Allow at least an hour after your flight or train arrives, and keep essentials in a small bag you can carry onto the boat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the combined bus-and-ferry ticket work?
One booking covers both legs and the connection is already timed. Show your E-Ticket at the pier counter — there is no separate boat ticket to buy.
How long does it take to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan?
From Surat Thani, about 4 hours to Koh Samui (from 341 THB) and about 5.5 hours to Koh Phangan (from 396 THB), checked August 2026.
Can I be picked up at the airport or train station?
Yes. Phantip Travel picks up at Surat Thani Airport and Surat Thani railway station (Phunphin). Choose the pick-up point that matches your arrival when booking.
How do I book a ticket online?
Choose your origin, destination, travel date and number of passengers, then pick a departure and your seat. Enter each passenger name exactly as it appears on their ID or passport and pay with any supported method. Your E-Ticket is issued immediately after payment.
How far in advance can I book?
Most operators open sales 30-60 days ahead; the calendar only shows dates that are actually on sale. Seats sell out fast around Songkran and New Year, so book at least 3-4 weeks ahead for those periods.
What payment methods are accepted?
Thai QR / PromptPay, mobile banking, credit cards, debit cards, and counter payment at outlets such as Big C if you do not have a card.
Do I have to print the ticket?
No. After payment your E-Ticket appears on the website, in your email and in the app. Just show it on your phone at the boarding point.
How early should I arrive?
Arrive at least 30 minutes before departure so there is time for ticket checking and loading luggage. Roadside pick-up points have very short stops, so wait there in advance.
Can I change or refund a ticket?
You can manage your booking yourself from the Manage Booking menu. Conditions, deadlines and fees are set by each operator, not by the booking platform.
What should I bring on board?
A long-sleeved top or light blanket — the air conditioning runs cold — a phone charger or power bank, motion-sickness tablets on winding routes, and keep valuables with you rather than in the luggage hold.
