We stood gazing at the scene before us: a sandy beach stretching as far as the eye could see, soft sunlight making the water’s surface sparkle, and small waves lapping rhythmically against the shore. The morning isn't too crowded; some people are out for a jog, while others have spread out mats to enjoy the breeze. As for us, we simply want to kick off our shoes and feel the sand and seawater beneath our feet, take a slow stroll while the sea breeze brushes against our faces, and sip on a favorite cup of coffee. For us, it’s a simple holiday morning yet one that brings an indescribable sense of peace and contentment.

If we were to liken Bangsaen to a home, Laem Thaen would be its spacious veranda, extending out toward the azure sea. You can see the sea stretching endlessly before you; the clear, bright weather allows the coastline to be visible for kilometers. A gentle sea breeze brushes against you, accompanied by the intermittent sound of waves crashing against the rocks below. It is truly a landmark spot anyone visiting this Bangsaen home simply must take a photo from the balcony, as the location’s charm is so captivating it makes you want to pause time.

We traveled along a road that gradually wound its way up the hillside to a viewpoint acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in Chonburi Province. While Bangsaen Beach offers a sense of closeness to the sea, Khao Sam Muk provides a panoramic view from above, where buildings, houses, and the coastal road appear small—almost like a miniature city model. Looking down, the curved expanse of Bang Saen Beach unfolds before you, where the vast blue sea seamlessly meets the horizon—a view so stunning it looks like a painting. Another highlight of Khao Sam Muk something you simply must experience to say you’ve truly visited—is the troop of local monkeys that are always ready to greet tourists with a smile.

After spending the morning exposed to the sun and wind by the sea, stepping into the cool interior of the Institute of Marine Science felt like opening a door into another world. Inside, a variety of marine life is on display, seemingly welcoming us to the underwater world. With every step past the exhibits, we learn about Thailand’s seas from fish species to the unique characteristics of various marine creatures. Then, our eyes are drawn to light rays reflecting off small, slowly drifting jellyfish, creating the sensation of gazing at a living work of art.

          A highlight you simply cannot miss here is walking through the massive underwater tunnel, where stingrays and schools of fish swim right overhead. It is a truly spectacular sight it feels as though we have become part of the underwater world, just like the fish themselves.

What we see before us is a street lined with restaurants and crowds of people browsing for food, souvenirs, and local Bangsaen products. The enticing aromas of seafood and various snacks fill the air. We stroll along, snacking as we go, pausing occasionally to snap photos or listen to live music. Whether you are a foodie, a shopper, or a photography enthusiast, you can easily lose track of time while spending hours at the Bangsaen Walking Street.

Bangsaen might not be the most beautiful beach in Thailand, but it is one of the few places that offers everything within just a few kilometers. Today was a truly happy one-day trip one of our most memorable yet.
